HOURS
You will work a minimum of 37.5 hour per week each week between 7am to 10pm Monday to Sunday with unpaid breaks throughout the day totalling more than 30 minutes.
PLACE OF WORK
Our business address is Office 18, The Colin Sanders Innovation Centre, Mewburn Road, Banbury, OX16 9PA. However, you will be expected to work in various residential care settings and service user homes
within the locality.
SALARY
£12.82 per hour/£25,000.00 per annum
REPORTING TO
Care Coordinator & Manager
We are recruiting care workers who will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and support to clients in their own homes across communities in Oxfordshire.
What to Expect
You will be expected to provide high standards of care as part of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that each service user receives safe, effective, and person-centred support at every visit. The role involves a broad range of responsibilities, including supporting new service users as they settle into care arrangements, contributing to the development and review of care plans, and working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and improve care standards.
Domiciliary care involves delivering a wide range of support services and requires flexibility, adaptability, and a patient, compassionate approach. You must treat each service user with dignity and respect, promoting independence wherever possible. Duties may include prompting, assisting with, or administering care tasks in line with training and competence, excluding tasks that are reserved for qualified nursing professionals.
PURPOSE

- To promote and uphold clients’ rights, including dignity, independence, choice, privacy, and fulfilment.

- To work collaboratively with colleagues and support fellow care workers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Care provision
· Provide personal care and support to clients with a wide range of needs, including assistance with medication, illness, and disabilities.
· Deliver care in accordance with individual care plans using a person-centred and least intrusive approach.
· Promote independence, wellbeing, and self-motivation.
· Assist with personal hygiene and grooming, including washing, dressing, toileting, and continence care.
· Prepare meals and drinks in line with clients’ preferences, dietary requirements, and cultural needs.
· Undertake light domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry as outlined in care plans.
· Use manual handling equipment safely and appropriately.
· Provide companionship, emotional support, and assistance with social activities, including accompanying clients where required.
Communication and Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate, clear, and timely records of care provided and medication administered.
- Regularly review care plans and acknowledge updates.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Report promptly any concerns relating to client wellbeing, behaviour, or care needs.
Safeguarding and Compliance
- Recognise signs of abuse and report any concerns immediately in line with safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information.
- Adhere to health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding policies at all times.
- Report accidents, incidents, or risks without delay.
Professional Conduct
- Attend all required training, meetings, and supervision sessions.
- Wear appropriate uniform and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Notify the office promptly of any delays or issues affecting service delivery.
- Submit timesheets and records accurately and on time.
- Continuously seek to improve practice and contribute to service development.
CRITERIA
Essential Criteria
You must be a compassionate, patient, and reliable individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills (reading, writing, and spoken English) – B2 CEFR or equivalent
- Empathy and a caring nature
- A full UK driving licence and access to/ownership of a vehicle (essential)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check (or overseas equivalent)
- Minimum of 6 months’ relevant experience (training provided if required)
- Completion of the Care Certificate and mandatory training modules

- Must meet applicable immigration and suitability requirements for a Skilled Worker visa
Flexible Working
- Shifts are rota-based and may vary depending on service user needs and operational requirements.
- Rotas will be communicated in advance by your Care Coordinator or Manager.
- For sponsored workers, a minimum of 37.5 hours per week will apply in line with sponsorship requirements.
- Overtime opportunities may be available.

Please note: Due to operational demands, particularly during peak periods such as Christmas, New Year, and Easter, annual leave may be restricted and is subject to management approval.

Training
